Posidonia 2024

Arrives at sunny Athens, Greece every two years to bring the latest and most groundbreaking in the shipping industry. Editions occur on even years and last for a total of five days in early June. Posidonia Exhibitions S.A. organises the prestigious international shipping exhibition, which takes place out of the modern facilities of Athens Metropolitan Expo. Doors are open to professional visitors only and working hours are scheduled for 10:30 am in the morning until 19:00 pm in the early evening, though these times are subject to change. Also be aware that these times don’t apply to the sports events scheduled around the exhibition. Athens Metropolitan Expo is conveniently located right at Athens International Airport “Elefterios Venizelos” in Spata. The exhibition grounds have excellent connections to the metro and suburban railway system for an easy commute to the city.

There are major sponsors for the exhibition such as the Union of Greek Shipowners and the Greek Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy. It’s a reason why Posidonia has been performing so good. It also helps that the Greek fleet is the biggest there is in the world. Greece now operates 20% of global and 50% of European capacity in terms of shipping and that’s the biggest draw for shipbuilders, marine service providers, experts, engineers and suppliers of marine equipment and information technology. Last edition saw more than 2000 exhibitors and 23,000 trade visitors from 104 countries and territories. 

Posidonia 2022 Edition

The 2022 edition of Posidonia occurred as a face-to-face trade fair between 06.06.2022 and 10.06.2022. It was held at the Athens Metropolitan Expo SA, which featured Covid-19 safety measures. The precautions included frequent disinfection of the event spaces and attendees having to perform regular hand sanitation. Posidonia 2022 marked a great success. The high participation rates were among the contributing factors. Posidonia 2022 featured 1,964 exhibitors from 88 countries, with 1,514 of the exhibiting companies travelling from abroad. 24 of the countries had national pavilions where they could present their wares to the 28,892 trade visitors from 103 countries. The visitors  represented 5 continents - Asia, Europe, Africa, South and North America. 10,094 media representatives attended the event.
