Bordeaux Wine Week

The wine and spirits industry's unprecedented collaborative event

Focused on the wines and spirits in general, Bordeaux Wine Week has been dictating trends within viniculture and the taste for the finer things for nearly 40 years. The international trade fair was first held back in 1981, when it was only about wines, but a lot has changed since then.

Bordeaux Wine Week has grown bigger and more inclusive, and the format has translated successfully to new destinations–Paris, New York, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. This global reach cements the fair’s reputation as a dictator in taste and a powerful market where supply meets demand. You go to Bordeaux Wine Week in order to reach the next level for your company–whether that’s brand recognition or breaking into new markets. The trade fair also offers a fantastic forum program, tastings and a special showcase on organic wines.

Event Update 2022

Between 16.06.2022 and 26.06.2022, the 2022 edition of Bordeaux Wine Week will take place. The event will be held within the iconic locations of the city of Bordeaux. This will include the Bordeaux Congres et Expositions amidst strict Covid-19 prevention measures. Among the measures that attendees must adhere to is the 3G entry policy. Participants must present immunisation, recovery, or negative test certificates before entering the venue. The event will feature events for the public, including "Picasso, the effervescence of forms" at the Cité du Vin.

Bordeaux Wine Week is conceived in Bordeaux, France and is still held there every two years, even though the fair is also held in Paris. Editions roll out every odd year in late spring, often around May, and the event lasts for a total of four days.

The fair takes place at Parc des Expositions de Bordeaux Lac and is organised by VINEXPO SA. Working hours are scheduled from 08:30 am until 18:30 pm on the first three days. Closing day concludes two hours earlier at 16:30 pm. It’s important to note that attendees can take advantage of the elaborate shuttle bus service that delivers you to Parc des Expositions de Bordeaux Lac. There are five lines with different starting locations – the city centre, the airport, the train station, Gare Saint-Jean, Mériadeck, and the Bordeaux-Lac hotel area.

There is a very good reason why all these people are satisfied with their outing at Bordeaux Wine Week – the fair generates money and attention. The last edition boasted 2000 brands in attendance; those are all the major wine producers in the world. In addition, in attendance were well above 40,000 visitors that come from every line of work possible–import and export, supermarkets, wholesale, retail, e-commerce, catering, hospitality and specialist organisations.

Bordeaux Wine Week operates under the motto of “100% business and 100% international” and this tracks really well since visitors come from 150 countries in total. This also applies to exhibitors, who showcase wines and spirits from a rich selection of regions–Austria, Georgia, Lebanon, China, Italy, the UK, and of course, the big five in France: Burgundy, Alsace, Loire, Languedoc, and Bordeaux.

Bordeaux 2022

The inaugural rendition was held in Bordeaux, France, from June 16th and June 26th, 2022. It included a variety of co-events, several of which attracted numerous participants. The Bordeaux Wine Festival, for example, received 35,000 visitors. The Cité du Vin and the Congres et expositions de Bordeaux were among the sites included in the programme.
