The very first edition was held back in 1992 and since that year, METPACK has quickly been promoted to the leading event that covers the entire value chain. METPACK 2026
The long road to METPACK 2026 has already begun with early preparations in the present. The in-person trade show will be held between 05.05.2026 and 08.05.2026 at the Messe Essen in Essen.

METPACK is a highly successful brand for Essen, Germany. Messe Essen is the sole organiser of METPACK and doubles as the official venue as well. Editions are run at larger intervals than most trade fairs; three years between each.
Only trade visitors are given admissions to the trade fair and programming lasts for five days in total. Working hours have been tentatively set from 09:00 am in the morning until 17:00 pm in the afternoon, but are subject to change and traditionally the last day ends earlier.
Messe Essen is centrally located in Essen, which allows for a swift commute be it by car or by public transport. If you’ve chosen not to rent a car, then you have a quick link to the grounds thanks to the city rail system.

The testimonials above reveal a rather optimistic landscape for manufacturers, which results in a high number of direct sales and sales leads. But what are the numbers saying? Given that METPACK is a highly specialist event, it makes sense for the audience to be concentrated in numbers, and yet organisers register a steady growth.
Last edition saw over 7200 trade visitors (in itself a satisfying number) and 300 exhibitors (a personal record for METPACK). And not just any kind of exhibitors – we are talking big names like Can Man, KBA-MetalPrint, Lanico, Mall + Herlan. This, in turn, attracts only high profile visitors – companies with big budgets and an eagerness to buy. Organisers disclose that that 86% of all trade visitors are employed at decision-making posts. Needless to say, this bodes well for your plans to move products off shelves.
METPACK 2023
METPACK 2023 took place as a live trade show between 02.05.2023 and 06.05.2023 in Messe Munich. The venue did not feature Covid-19 safety measures due to Germany lifting its pandemic-related restrictions. The event was attended by around 6,500 visitors and 313 exhibitors. 73% of the visiting group were from abroad and 88% had purchasing or procurement expertise. This resulted in many successful business deals. 72% of the visitors considered placing follow-up orders and 82% deemed the presented products and services as greatly positive. 93% of the visitors would attend the next edition and recommend the event to others. Of the exhibitors, 95% will take part in the next rendition.
