Messe Düsseldorf serves as the organiser and host of GIFA. It is held along the trade fairs NEWCAST, THERMPROCESS and METEC. Editions are organised quadrennially (every four years) and usually occur in June in Düsseldorf, Germany. Together, these four fairs are the complete source of innovation in processing technology and manufacturing. Doors are open to trade visitors from 09:00 until 18:00. Often, organisers set the closing time to 16:00 on the last day. Visitors can easily reach Messe Düsseldorf by car, bus, and tram.
Each edition attracts over 48,000 trade visitors. The balance between native Germans and international professional attendees is equal. Exhibitors reach over 900. Thus, it is easier to gain brand recognition. The nationalities of visitors represent the EU and other European countries. They also represent countries from Africa, North America, South America and Asia. Breaking down the audience by professional role features promising results. Students at the start of their careers, as well as freelancers, visit the trade fair. So do managers, board members, CEOs and owners also attend the event. The fair enjoys extensive support from diverse German industry associations. Chief among them is the Verein Deutscher Giessereifachleute.
