The event takes place every one to two years in Bologna Fiere, with the site also the organiser of the event, employing a Slow Food concept. It is held for three days. The visiting hours for the exhibitors, trade visitors, and visitors vary. Exhibitants and trade attendees are welcome between 12:00 and 19:00 on the first day, between 10:00 and 18:00 on the second and between 10:00 and 16:00 on the final day. Public visitors visit on the first day between 12:00 and 19:00.
Bologna Fiere is close to Bologna’s Marconi Airport. It is accessible by train via the Marconi Express. It is also accessible from the Bologna Central train station via taxi, bus lines 35 and 38, and on foot (approximately 30 minutes).
Slow Wine Fair attracts representatives from diverse industries. Among them are HoReCa, viticulture, food and beverage. These include buyers, restaurateurs, shop owners, importers, distributors, chefs, public visitors and sommeliers. These include leading brands such as Cantina della Volta, Cocchi, Colombaio di Santa Chiara, Elisabetta Dalzocchio, Il Poggiolo, and others. As a result, the event receives over 13,000 attendees. These include 12,000 visitors and around 900 exhibitors from 26 countries. 70% of the visitors are from the Ho.Re.Ca industry.

Slow Wine Fair 2024 was a live trade fair held in Bologna Fiera. It featured over 13,000 attendees, including 12,000 visitors. Among the attendees were also over 300 journalists and around 900 exhibitors from 26 countries. The HoReCa industry represented 70% of the attendees.
