The jewelry industry in Vicenza would not be the economic and cultural institution it’s become today without the presence of Vicenzaoro. Held twice a year, the trade fair sets the standard when it comes to excellence in the global jewelry industry and the January 2024 edition more than exceeded all expectations for the prestigious exhibition’s 70th anniversary. The event, organized by the Italian Exhibition Group, witnessed a remarkable 3% increase in attendance compared to the previous record-setting edition.
One of the most notable highlights of this year’s Vicenzaoro was the significant international turnout as six out of ten visitors traveled from abroad, which cemented Vicenza’s status as a pivotal market hub for the global jewelry industry. To accommodate the growing demand, organizers have commenced work on a new 22,000-square-meter hall. Foreign attendance accounted for 60% of the total with visitors from 141 countries worldwide. Europe constituted 53% of the foreign attendees, followed by the Middle East, Asia, Turkey, North America, Latin America and Africa. Leading the pack among individual countries were the United States, Turkey, Spain, Germany, France, Greece, the United Arab Emirates, India, China, and Japan. Additionally, the event saw a spike in Italian attendance, particularly from regions like Veneto, Lombardy, Tuscany and Piedmont.
Vicenzaoro serves as a platform for fostering collaboration between industry and education with 23 schools and approximately 750 students participating in various initiatives aimed at nurturing the next generation of talent. Upon the successful conclusion of Vicenzaoro January 2024, attention shifts to the future, which includes the commencement of construction on the new exhibition hall, slated for completion by September 2026. The introduction of The Vicenza Symposium in 2025 promises to further enrich the event’s agenda as the symposium promises to offer a problem-solving platform for industry players and foster collaboration and innovation in the years to come.
