Exhibitions in Bilbao, Spain for Micro & Nano Technologies

BIEMH is where local companies operating in the micro and nano technologies industry in Bilbao have the opportunity to showcase innovations and penetrate the larger world of machine tools. BIEMH (International Machine-Tool Exhibition) is pivotal in pushing breakthroughs in additive manufacturing, robotics, and digitalization. The 2024 edition broke records with 37,614 attendees from 67 countries. That’s a mind boggling 56% increase in visitor participation compared to the previous edition. The event showcased 1,604 exhibiting companies from 29 nations, presenting 3,716 cutting-edge products and services, including a special focus on large machinery. Beyond its technological showcases, BIEMH made a notable economic impact. The exhibition contributed an estimated €66.4 million to Spain’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and created 1,344 direct jobs. Additive manufacturing and 3D printing emerged as key themes at the event, particularly through the International Additive Manufacturing and 3D Fair (ADDITƐD), which ran concurrently with BIEMH. Industry experts highlighted that innovation in additive manufacturing is reaching maturity with customer-focused processes ready for rapid adoption in the next decade. Here micro and nano technologies are an intrinsic part of the success of the industry. The automation and robotics sector also took center stage, with discussions emphasizing the importance of integrating robotics with artificial intelligence (AI). Speakers highlighted real-world applications where robotics and AI improve cadence, precision, efficiency, and workplace safety—critical elements in driving industrial advancement. Digitalization was another focal point, with 170 speakers, including participants from the BeDIGITAL Innovation Workshops, discussing the strategic role of AI in industrial operations. Topics ranged from AI-driven planning and sequencing of value chains to the effective use of data for synchronization and optimization. These sessions attracted close to 1,000 professionals eager to explore AI's transformative potential in manufacturing and supply chain management.
