IAW's 2021 edition took place as an in-person exhibition between 14.09.2021 and 16.09.2021 at Messe Cologne. Among the format changes were the implementation of strict COVID-19 prevention measures, which were necessary due to the ongoing pandemic. The protocols included attendees needing to present health certificates. Approximately 5000 trade visitors and 200 exhibitors opted to visit in person. The 2021 edition marked the successful restart of the industry and prompted organisers to proceed with the next rendition.
