Dortmund, Germany serves as host to Inter Tabac every single year in the second half of September and editions usually last for a total of three days. The official organiser for the event is the famous VILLIGER Group, the Swiss tobacco Germany,that’s been in business since 1888 and has grown its number of operations to 70 countries, and exhibitors showcase at Messe Dortmund.
Doors are open to professional visitors over the age of 18 and working hours are from 10:00 am until 18:00 pm. The only exception is the last day, which closes at 17:00 pm. If you’re not in a car or using the railway system, there are several public transport options. You can take the U45 or U42 underground train lines to where you’re staying.
Inter Tabac is organised with the generous support of several major German associations within the industry, but the biggest of them all is the Landesfachverband Tabak, translating to the German Tobacco Association. It’s this institutional support that has given the event a stable growth over the intervening years, which has culminated with last edition’s 520 exhibitors and 13,800 trade visitors.
Outside Germany, the countries with highest numbers of visitors include the Netherlands, Italy, France, Belgium, Bulgaria and Spain. But the geographic reach of Inter Tabac far surpasses Europe and stretches to markets in North and South America, Asia and even Africa. A breakdown in professional background reveals tobacconists, wholesalers and retailers from and employees of the tobacco industry worldwide.
Inter Tabac 2022
Inter Tabac and Inter Supply were held as face-to-face trade exhibitions at Messe Dortmund between September 15th and September 17th, 2022. More than 600 exhibitors from 69 nations participated in the editions, including 160 newcomers. The venue did not have rigorous Covid-19 safety procedures because of the removal of Germany's domestic regulations.
Inter Tabac 2023
Inter Tabac and Inter Supply were hosted as live trade fairs in Messe Dortmund. The events took place between the dates of 14.09.2023 and 16.09.2023. The renditions featured over 680 exhibitors from 60 countries.
Inter Tabac 2024
Inter Tabac 2024 was a live trade fair that coincided with Inter Supply 2024. The events were held between the dates of 18.09.2024 and 20.09.2024 in Messe Dortmund. They presented the wares of over 800 exhibitors from approximately 70 countries.
