Looking towards the future, Abu Dhabi launched the Abu Dhabi Hydrogen Alliance in 2021, which comprises ADNOC, Mubadala and ADQ. Backed by robust policy frameworks, such as the UAE National Climate Change Plan 2017–2050 and the establishment of the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy in 2018, the emirate is steadfast in its mission to achieve a climate-resilient green economy. These initiatives are pivotal in ensuring long-term sustainability and enhancing the quality of life for residents. Abu Dhabi, in particular, distinguishes itself as a driving force in innovation and sustainability in the global energy stage. By balancing its rich hydrocarbon heritage with forward-thinking investments in clean energy technologies and economic diversification, Abu Dhabi is not only securing its energy future but also setting a precedent for sustainable development worldwide.
