IAA Transportation 2026

IAA Transportation follows a strict biannual schedule with editions slated for the year when IAA Mobility is not taking place. Rather than taking place in Frankfurt like IAA Mobility, this trade fair is based in Hannover, Germany, where it’s brought to life at Messe Hannover. The Verband der Automobilindustrie, better known as VDE, takes on the role of official organiser and runs the fair’s editions over the course of eight days in total in late September. Admission is given to both industry professionals and the public. Currently, there are no set opening times for the next IAA Transportation. Messe Hannover gives you options in terms of transportation. You can take several bus lines or decide to use the railway system as there are two light rail stations near the exhibition grounds. One way to beat the traffic to Hannover Airport, especially when in a hurry, is to use the helipad! 

What You Can Expect as an Exhibitor? 

• The New Mobility World FORUM is a major source of information and breaking news for the future of transportation. The conference, lasting four days, touched upon a vary array of topics in the fields of Connected Vehicle, Automated Driving, Alternative Powertrain, Urban Logistics and Transport Services;
• A whole area dedicated to buses and the important topics surrounding this sectors. Visitors are in a position not just to learn about new models, but also use all their senses to feel and experience them;IAA Transportation is also a place for employers to meet new talent through the big Career platform designed for experienced professionals as well as newcomers and trainees; 

IAA Transportation scores quite big in its own right with last edition seeing a spike in the exhibitor numbers – over 2000 international exhibitors in total coming from 48 countries. Another encouraging statistic is that 60% of all exhibitors are foreign companies. The audience reached well above a quarter million people with good 24% being private citizens, who have come to see and experience the future of transport whether through live demonstrations or even VR. Exhibitors also used IAA Transportation to launch products, with 435 individual premier taking place. Close to 70% of trade visitors are of German origin and the rest are made up of countries in the European Union mainly. Nearly half of trade visitors are in senior positions and over 70% are in a position to make purchases and procurements. 

IAA Transportation 2022

IAA Transporation 2022 was a live event that took place between September 20th and September 25th, 2022. The trade fair was hosted at Messe Hannover and included 1,402 exhibitors, including 68 start-ups, 135,000 visitors, as well as 1,400 journalists. The exhibitors travelled from 47 countries, whereas the media professionals arrived from 57 nations. 

IAA Transportation 2024

The 2024 edition of IAA Transportation was a live trade fair hosted between 17.09.2024 and 20.09.2024 in Messe Hannover. The event featured approximately 145,000 visitors, more than 1,400 journalists from 52 countries, and around 1,700 exhibitors from 41 nations. This represented a 10% increase in visitor attendance and a 21% exhibitor increase compared to 2022. In addition, the visitor group feature 45% from abroad, 30% in leadership positions, and more than 50% with investment intentions. Furthermore, the exhibitors organised over 80 press conferences, with 76% focused towards international media outlets from 116 countries. This included presenting 145 world product premieres. They also organised 6,300 test drives, which represented a 15% increase compared to 2022. This has resulted in the event satisfaction rate of more than 90%.
