IAA Transportation follows a strict biannual schedule. Editions are held for the year when IAA Mobility is not taking place. Rather than taking place in Frankfurt like IAA Mobility, this trade fair is in Hannover, Germany. It is held at Messe Hannover. The Verband der Automobilindustrie, better known as VDE, takes on the role of official organiser. It runs the fair’s editions for eight days in late September. What You Can Expect as an Exhibitor?

They span the fields of Connected Vehicle, Automated Driving, and Alternative Powertrain. They also include Urban Logistics and Transport Services;
- An entire area is dedicated to buses and the topics surrounding this sector. Visitors are in a position not just to learn about new models. They can also use all their senses to feel and experience them. IAA Transportation is also a place for employers to meet new talent through the Big Career Platform. It is designed for experienced professionals as well as newcomers and trainees.
IAA Transportation features a notable attendance level during its most recent edition. It featured a spike in the exhibitor numbers. Over 2000 international exhibitors from 48 countries attended the event. Another encouraging statistic is that 60% of all exhibitors are foreign companies. The audience reached well above a quarter million people. Of them, 24% were private citizens. They experienced the future of transport through live demonstrations or even VR. Exhibitors also used IAA Transportation to launch products. A total of 435 individual premiers took place during the event. Close to 70% of trade visitors are of German origin. The remaining are primarily from countries in the European Union. Nearly half of trade visitors are in senior positions, and over 70% can make purchasing and procurement decisions.
IAA Transportation 2022
IAA Transporation 2022 was a live event that took place between September 20th and September 25th, 2022. The trade fair was hosted at Messe Hannover and included 1,402 exhibitors, including 68 start-ups, 135,000 visitors, as well as 1,400 journalists. The exhibitors travelled from 47 countries, whereas the media professionals arrived from 57 nations.
IAA Transportation 2024
The 2024 edition of IAA Transportation was a live trade fair hosted between 17.09.2024 and 20.09.2024 in Messe Hannover. The event featured approximately 145,000 visitors, more than 1,400 journalists from 52 countries, and around 1,700 exhibitors from 41 nations. This represented a 10% increase in visitor attendance and a 21% exhibitor increase compared to 2022. In addition, the visitor group feature 45% from abroad, 30% in leadership positions, and more than 50% with investment intentions. Furthermore, the exhibitors organised over 80 press conferences, with 76% focused towards international media outlets from 116 countries. This included presenting 145 world product premieres. They also organised 6,300 test drives, which represented a 15% increase compared to 2022. This has resulted in the event satisfaction rate of more than 90%.
