Nor-Shipping and Covid-19
Nor-Shipping will be held as a face-to-face trade fair in 2023. The new posting dates for the event are 06.06.2023 - 09.06.2023. Nor-Shipping will be held at the Norges Varemesse/NOVA Spektrum in Norway. At present, Norway and the Norges Varemesse do not have travel limitations and Covid-19 safety measures, respectively.
For more than 50 years, Nor-Shipping has been the beacon for innovation in the maritime industry in Northern Europe. The international exhibition was founded in 1965 and now is at the forefront of innovation on several fronts like innovative ship design, young entrepreneurship and energy efficiency.
It’s not an exaggeration to say that every category of value is represented in these halls. The thematic halls are as follow – IT & navigation, Safety & rescue, Shipbuilding & repair, Maritime services & logistics, and Propulsion & machinery. This wealth of product elevates Nor-Shipping to a central hub for new launches and purchases.
Maritime management experts from all over Europe and the world keep a close eye on this exhibition as it’s where strong trends form on a regular basis. Don’t believe us. Look at the winners of the Nor-Shipping Awards for proof.
Nor-Shipping, as organisers often like to say, sits at the heart of the oceans, so it makes perfect a perfect sense to have this exhibition take place in Lillestrom, Norway. Norges Varemesse wears a variety of hats not just as an official organiser, but also as the event host.
The exhibition usually is a biennial event put together at the start of summer every odd year. Editions last four days and are held at the start of June. Doors are open to both professionals and the general public. Hours are the same for everyone – 10:00 am in the morning until 17:00 pm in the afternoon during the first three days and 10:00 am until 15:00 pm on the very last day. Commuting is a bit tricky since Lillestrom is a smaller city, but official visitors have public transportation with VY/NSB & Ruter that not only extends to the town, but also Oslo city area and between Oslo & Oslo Airport.
What Can You Expect as an Exhibitor?
- Commitment to sustainability and the environment. Nor-Shipping has a firm stance on the way current practices are failing the environment and calls for the industry for change. The exhibition has sustainability principles which it promotes in order to develop a sustainable ocean development through aligning itself with the UN Sustainable Development Goals;
- Hunger for innovation. Supply meets demand. Demand inspired supply. It’s these two big forces that have turned Nor-Shipping into a generator of new ideas on all levels. You don’t see it just in the cutting-edge equipment and technology on display, but also experience its echo in all related sectors;
- Attention to exhibitor needs. The exhibitor is king during Nor-Shipping and nowhere else will you ever find such modern facilities as those within the 21,000 square metre exhibition space. What this has in turn produced is a high pedigree of those who exhibit including a great variety of national pavilions.
