A pivotal animal breeding and processing sector event
VIV Europe is the right international trade fair for any farmer who wants to find innovative animal production technology for the needs of their business. With half a century of history under its belt, VIV Europe is one of the must-attend events for innovations in processing from feed to meat.
Since 1968, this international trade fair has gathered many professionals from the field of animal feeding and breeding, and as a result it formed itself as a major platform for procurement and innovation. There is a reason why VIV Europe stills holds the reputation as the Olympics of the animal protein sector.
One of the fair’s strengths is its commitment to showcasing the entire processing chain – raw materials, farm equipment, feed processing equipment & supplies, animal health & breeding, and meat processing, packaging & handling. The breadth of products encompasses poultry meat, eggs, pig meat, calf meat and dairy.

VIV Europe is spaced out every four years and editions are held in Utrecht, Netherlands. The fair lasts for three days in total and proceedings take place in early summer, often at the start of June.
Jaarbeurs serves as the official organiser for the event and the trade fair is put together at the Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs Exhibition & Convention Centre. Admission is given only to trade visitors and working hours are set from 10:00 am until 18:00 pm. The Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs Exhibition & Convention Centre finds itself in the beating heart of Utrecht, right next to the Central Train Station, which means you’ll have an easy time walking to the venue from your city centre hotel or by catching one of the many bus lines that service the train station. The commute couldn’t be any easier to plan.
VIV Europe generates significant business for its exhibitors as you’re one among 600 exhibitors that attend the trade fair, while the audience continues to grow with the expectation to go beyond 25,000 industry insiders. That’s a good ratio, and you need to know that there’s a great variety of professional backgrounds.
You get to meet with distributors, breeders, nutritionists, farm owners, farm employees, food retailers, processing companies, veterinarians, importers and exporters, engineers, researchers and consultants. That’s certainly to be ignored. Nor is the geographic reach you can gain thanks to VIV Europe.
Aside from European markets, the trade fair has opened new channels to Africa with Nigeria, Ethiopia, Ghana, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger being the new markets to be explored on the ground.

It attracted 19,024 attendees from 142 nations and 435 exhibitors from 44 countries.
Sixty-eight percent of visitors arrived from Western Europe, while ten percent represented Eastern Europe. 14 percent of trade visitors travelled from the Middle East and Africa, while 8 percent represented Asia and other regions of the world. The event featured over 20 innovations. 89 percent of exhibitors will exhibit during the next edition, while 86 percent of visitors plan to attend. 75% of exhibiting companies would suggest the event to others. 84 percent of trade visitors would highly suggest VIV Europe to other industry members. 71 percent of exhibitors rate the event as fairly or very important, while 75 percent of visitors rate VIV Europe as fairly or very important. 82% of the attendees rate the content as good or very good, whereas 74% of the exhibitors rate visitor quality as good or excellent.
