Exhibitions in Verona, Italy for Marble

No other city in Italy has a connection to the national marble industry as Verona. The town in the North of Italy is known for its marble, granite, and stone processing industry. This district, rich in history and expertise, has evolved from ancient quarrying traditions to become a global centre for stone craftsmanship, technology, and innovation. The area between Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella, Affi, and Cavaion is home to hundreds of companies that process both local and imported stones, using some of the most advanced technologies in the industry. Verona's ties to stone dates back to prehistoric times, flourishing during the Roman Empire when monumental structures like the Gavi Arch and Verona’s Arena were built from the region's natural stone. Today, the tradition continues, but with a modern twist; state-of-the-art equipment, from lasers and automated lines to sculpting robots and diamond blades, powers the stone-processing factories that dot the landscape. A highlight in Verona’s marble industry calendar is Marmomac, the world’s leading trade fair for marble, granite, stone, and the machinery used to process them. Held annually in Verona at the end of September, Marmomac draws exhibitors and visitors from across the globe. Exhibitors present everything from traditional chisels to cutting-edge sculpting robots. Live demonstrations of machines in operation allow attendees to see the capabilities of modern stone-working technologies. Among the many success stories in Verona’s marble district is CEV, a company with deep roots in the industry. Founded in 1973, CEV evolved from a small stone workshop started by Angelo Crescini in the early 1900s. Initially serving only the local community, CEV expanded its reach under the leadership of Angelo's son, Luigi, who transformed the family business into a major player in the national and international marble markets. Today, the company remains at the forefront of stone processing, combining passion, craftsmanship, and innovation.
