Exhibitions in Madrid, Spain for Refrigeration

The refrigeration industry in Madrid finds extensive support, resources and opportunities to build lasting international partnerships at Climatización & Refrigeración (C&R), the leading trade fair for air conditioning, ventilation, heating, plumbing, and refrigeration in Spain. The most recent edition of C&R was one of the most significant to date. For the first time, the event was held in conjunction with two major trade fairs—Genera, the International Energy and Environment Fair, and Matelec, the International Trade Fair for the Electrical and Electronics Industry. Under the slogan ‘Innovation for Decarbonisation,’ C&R 2024 emphasized the role of the refrigeration industry in reducing carbon emissions and promoting greener solutions. Hall 5 was dedicated exclusively to refrigeration. The event brought together key industry players involved in industrial and commercial refrigeration, air conditioning, piping and valves, insulation, ventilation, and regulation and control systems. The Organizing Committee actively worked to define key themes and activities for the C&R Forum. The agenda included expert-led discussions on energy-efficient solutions, the latest advancements in refrigeration technology, and best practices in installation and maintenance. In addition, hands-on workshops provided professionals with valuable insights into the latest tools, applications, and regulatory developments shaping the industry. What brings additional value to Madrid’s refrigeration industry is the access to valuable reports and data. An example: recent data from the Spanish Association of Air Conditioning Equipment Manufacturers (AFEC) highlighted the growth of the air conditioning sector in 2023. According to the latest AFEC report, the Spanish air conditioning market expanded by 21.3%, with business volume for heat pumps and domestic hot water production increasing by 23.3%. The residential sector, in particular, saw a significant uptick, with over 1.27 million units sold, amounting to a total value of €921.54 million. A central topic of discussion was the growing impact of smart technologies and AI.
