Exhibitions in Farnborough, UK for Aerospace, Airport Technology

Farnborough has close ties to the aerospace industry right from its very inception and the biggest link happens to be the historic airfield carries, whose legacy spans generations from the cradle of aviation to a modern center for groundbreaking aerospace endeavors. The Farnborough Airfield, once home to the Royal Aircraft Establishment (RAE), is a cultural and historic landmark. The RAE's historic wind tunnels are considered to be architectural marvels in their own right and are now listed buildings. Among these, two iconic tunnels hold a special place, one dating back to 1917 and the other, a giant of its kind, built in 1935. The larger tunnel made history as it contributed to the pioneering work on Concorde’s aerodynamics. Over the years, its capabilities extended beyond aviation, delving into the world of Formula 1 cars. Sadly, the tunnel closed its doors in the early 1990s, but it lives on as a symbol of the relentless pursuit of innovation. For those with a curiosity for the history of aviation, the wind tunnels offered a glimpse into the world of aerospace during the Farnborough International Airshow. The airshow is a hallmark event that showcases the latest in civilian and military aircraft. With over 1500 exhibitors from 48 countries, it ranks as the second-largest show globally. This biennial show attracts customers, investors and industry leaders, where new developments and orders are unveiled. Moreover, Farnborough's historical significance is not confined to the past. It remains a bustling hub for cutting-edge aerospace activities. The Space-Comm Expo, held in the heart of Farnborough, brings together the entire space sector. It serves as a vital platform for the manufacturing supply chain, offering products, services and solutions that cater to commercial enterprises and developments in space. The event features industry and government speakers, a Meet-the-Buyer program, and face-to-face roundtables.
