IFFA has always seen a benchmark event for the meat industry ever since its inception in 1949 – the international exhibition oversees best practices and technological breakthroughs across the entire processing chain from slaughter to packaging. IFFA 2025
The 2025 edition of IFFA will push through without change or delay from 03.05.2025 to 08.05.2025 at the Messe Frankfurt in Frankfurt on the Main, Germany. Currently, Germany does not have ongoing Covid-19 domestic restrictions in place. This is due to their removal in April 2022. Attendees will be highly encouraged to follow recommendations such as wearing surgical masks during congestion situations.

IFFA enjoys special attention from industry insiders because it’s one of the lesser frequent events for the meat sector. Editions are organised on a three-year basis and usually fall somewhere around May. What they compensate with is a longer program, as editions run for six days in total.
Messe Frankfurt doubles its responsibility as the official organiser of IFFA and the venue. Only trade visitors are admitted and working hours are from 09:00 am until 18:00 pm. Only the last day makes an exception with a closing time of 17:00 pm. Messe Frankfurt makes it really easy to reach, whether you choose to drive or want to use public transport. Whether you select a tram, the suburban train system or the metro, you’re sure to arrive there in no time!
What Can You Expect as an Exhibitor?

- Opportunity to stay in step with the time and receive attention from the industry as IFFA organises a series of highly regarded guided tours called the IFFA Discovery Tours.
IFFA enjoys support from several industry organisations within Germany, but the biggest are the DFV (German Butcher’s Association) and VDMA (German Mechanical Engineer Association). Together they ensure that the exhibition is a natural choice for experts, thought leaders and others involved in the meat sector to attend.
The results have been more than satisfactory, with some 1000 exhibitors and over 67,000 trade visitors in attendance. The audience comprises professionals from all corporate levels and backgrounds with the inclusion of butchers’ trade, food retail trade, wholesalers, importers and exporters, food and the semi-luxuries industry.
You’re not going to be disappointed with the level of international guests as roughly 70% of all visitors are from outside Germany, and together they represent the whole of Europe, Northern America and some parts of Asia. This is more than enough opportunity to meet new buyers and break into new markets.
IFFA 2022
The 2022 edition of IFFA signified the successful restart of the trade fair after a two-year hiatus caused by the pandemic. The face-to-face edition occurred between 14.05.2022 and 19.05.2022 in Messe Frankfurt. Due to the improved epidemiological situation in Germany, the venue did not implement strict Covid-19 safety measures, such as the 3G entry policy. IFFA 2022 was a highly international edition, as 72% of the trade visitors and 58% of the exhibitors represented foreign countries. On 115, 000 m2 of event space, around 50,000 visitors from 129 nations and 860 exhibitors from 44 countries networked and examined innovations.
