Coronavirus Event and Safety Measures Update

The latest edition of Sirha will take place between 19.01.2023 and 23.01.2023. The hosting location for the live exhibition will be Eurexpo Lyon in France. The venue will feature the latest and strictest COVID-19 prevention measures. Among them implemented measures will be the following policies:

  • Preregistration is required for all attendees, including visitors and exhibitors. Additionally, attendants must show a valid EU Covid-19 Certificate or Covid-19 Health Pass. Attendees can present negative RT-PCR, antigenic, or supervised self-test results. The results must be less than 72 hours old. They can also show recovery or immunisation proof. Attendees whose test results have expired can conduct an antigenic test at the venue. The test will be ready in 15 minutes.
  • Attendees should note that preregistration is mandatory. They must also print their tickets or badges at home. Participants can perform the preregistration via the smartphone application or event website.

In the hospitality and culinary circles, few trade fairs are as important as Sirha – the meeting point for high-end trends and solutions within hospitality, food catering and beverages. The international trade fair has been a source of excellence for thirty years now, as the very first edition took place in 1990.

Although a place where supply could meet demand, organisers at Sirha have always been adamant regarding the fair’s true ambition – pursuing future trends and defining what’s to come. Given programming includes 17 contests and 1500 demonstrations as well as the World Cuisine Summit, that’s easily recognized.

The product portfolio is vast and extends to crystal, glassware, delicatessen, sophisticated dishes, fine china, coffee machines, restaurant equipment, crockery, tablecloths, washing machines, refrigerators, bakery, chocolates, confectionery, and transportation of goods.

You cannot have an event that defines the height of good taste and not situate it in France. Lyon, France is the home of Sirha and editions are held once every two years. The trade fair lasts for five days and usually marks the beginning of the calendar year during January.

Of course, in the role of the host steps in EUREXPO Centre de Conventions et d'Expositions de Lyon. Euroexpo Lyon Group GL Events serves as the official organiser. Access is given to only trade visitors and the working hours have been set for the period 09:00 am until 18:00 pm.

Don’t want to rent a car for the exhibition? You will have an easy time commuting to EUREXPO as the exhibition grounds are serviced by the tram (Tram Line T5) and bus (L100) systems – the lines in question run efficiently and regularly enough to make commuting a simple task.

What to expect as an exhibitor

  • Sirha functions as a bridge to unite all the links in the value chain. This is a rare occurrence, and there is a great value in overseeing the bigger picture of the entire industry – it gives you a bigger insight into where it’s headed and what market trends to take advantage of;
  • Sirha is a place for inspiration and innovations. This is no better way, demonstrated through the sheer creativity and ingenuity demonstrated at the Food Studio – a unique space within Sirha where a guest chef and cooking institution completely redo our concept of dining and food;
  • Sirha is also home to the World Cuisine Summit, which has been at the core of innovation at the trade fair. It’s here that the biggest and brightest in their field tackle trends, offer solutions and provide an atmosphere for the sustainable development of professionals;

Audience & statistics

Sirha is a juggernaut of an event, as we will see from the statistics of the previous edition. There were products and services from nearly 3800 international exhibitors, while the exhibition halls swelled with an audience of more than 225,000 trade visitors. That’s an impressive turnout and all the more reason to invest in attendance.

It’s an impressive opportunity to break into the French market since even though Sirha boasts such numbers, only roughly 600 exhibitors and 30,000 visitors are foreign nationals. The countries that do have a presence here include Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Japan, Hungary, Germany, the UK, Norway and the USA. What more can we learn about the trade visitors that attend. They are there to do business and come from all branches of the industry. That would be wholesale and distribution, food trades, architects, catering, bakery and pastry, education and training.
