Interpack is the focus point for the various branches of the packaging and processing industry. The international exhibition is pivotal for several reasons. It is one of the few global events that showcase market trends and technical innovations. It results in the entire value chain attending. Messe Düsseldorf is the mastermind behind this international exhibition. It arrives only once every three years in Düsseldorf, Germany and lasts seven days. Editions are scheduled for early in the year. May is the month that typically sees interpack staged.
There is a lot of support and sponsorship from leading German associations and unions involved in the packaging industry. Examples include the German Engineering Federation (VDMA), to bring interpack to life. Messe Düsseldorf admits only professional visitors. Working hours are from 10:00 until 18:00. Beyond the motorways and the shuttle bus services from the airport, visitors can access the tram lines U78 and U79. They also have bus 722 at their disposal to get to the exhibition grounds.
What You Can Expect as an Exhibitor?
- Interpack ranks as the number one global event for packaging and processing. No other platform will give you access to diverse regions to research, explore and target. This is where brands demolish borders;
- Every single edition has a different feel, different players and different visitors. This is because the industry changes dramatically within three years. Interpack manages to accurately and in great depth create a snapshot of the industry as a result;
- The event is always the most reliable source of research and advancements. These include the latest trends in automation, digitalisation, and sustainability;
- Access to a wealth of special shows and supporting items. Among them are the SAVE FOOD Congress and innovationparc.
As mentioned, interpack is the unifying benchmark for the whole packaging and processing value chain. It is reflected in the numbers from the last edition. The exhibitors span over 1,800, and trade visitors reached the 170,000 mark. Most of them travel from outside Germany.
74% of visitors are foreign nationals from 168 countries. It represents all markets on all continents as a result.
The main goal for visitors is to make purchases. As we have already discussed, visitors' professional backgrounds are varied. These include food, beverage, confectionery, bakery, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, non-food, and industrial goods sectors.
Thanks to the SAVE FOOD Congress, interpack has also attracted associations, NGOs, and research institutes.
Interpack 2023
Interpack 2023 surpassed the organiser's expectations. The hybrid trade fair was held at Messe Dusseldorf between 04.05.2023 and 10.05.2023. It featured around 145,807 live participants and 200 000 digital ones. This included approximately 143,000 visitors from 155 countries (66% from abroad and 75% with top or middle management positions) and 2,807 exhibitors. 96% of the participants achieved their business goals.
