The latest edition of Interschutz will be chugging down the road a little longer due to fears about the coronavirus. Interschutz will instead take place on June 20th to June 25th, 2022, at Messe Hannover in Hanover, Germany. Health, safety, and prevention measures will be implemented at the venue.

INTERSCHUTZ always creates waves when it enters the stage as it has proven itself as the one, true definitive platform for the safety, security and fire prevention sectors in Europe and beyond. It’s here where you open yourself up to business from all over the world, move units and see first-hand the latest in innovations.

The product portfolio extends to jump pads, ambulances, high-altitude rescue equipment, fall protection, extinguishing agents, fire engines, ladders, radiation measuring instruments, fire extinguishing systems and rescue vehicles. INTERSCHUTZ has been on the scene for a long while existing under one form or another at irregular intervals since the 50s but only formed as its current brand in 1980 and then cemented its current format in 2000.

INTERSCHUTZ is one of the few events in the world that’s held as rarely with editions happening only once every five years, which creates a completely different experience every time it’s held in Hannover, Germany.  Editions last for six days and usually happen in the summer around June.

The international exhibition is organised by Deutsche Messe with help from numerous associations as sponsors. Messe Hannover serves as the host venue and visitors have access to the exhibition from 09:00 am in the morning until 18:00 pm in the afternoon.

As with most exhibition grounds in Germany, Messe Hannover is well connected to the city’s infrastructure. If you’re commuting with public transport you have two light rail stations and bus lines to assist you. For those who are set on getting the best, you can always use the helipad to fly to Hannover Airport.

What Are People Saying?

“This edition of INTERSCHUTZ struck a resounding chord, displaying a stunning array of innovations, tremendous international drawing power and keen interest on the part of visiting professionals," Jochen Köckler, Member of the Deutsche Messe Managing Board;

“The event surpassed all expectations – not only in terms of the statistics, but also due to the remarkable atmosphere here at the sector's flagship fair. Our goal of making the world a bit safer has been achieved in outstanding fashion at the biggest-ever INTERSCHUTZ, which truly lived up to its pledge: 'Destination: Future',” Dirk Aschenbrenner, President of the German Fire Protection Association;

“INTERSCHUTZ is the ultimate success story. Rather than being just a platform for selling products and services, it has become a cult event for fire services everywhere!” Hans-Peter Kröger, President of the German Fire Service Association (DFV);

“INTERSCHUTZ is more than just a trade fair. It sets the course for the industry and represents a networking event for the community of 'helping hands,” Dr. Bernd Scherer, Managing Director of the German Engineering Federation (VDMA).

Audience & Statistics

INTERSCHUTZ strives to achieve a lot in just one event and because it stretches far into several directions it has become a landmark exhibition in the industry with an unrivaled attendance. This is in no small part because it’s staged only once every five years. Last edition was a juggernaut with over 1500 exhibitors and more than 150,000 trade visitors from all over the world.

Because INTERSCHUTZ partners with many associations in the country like DFV, GFPA and VDMA with the German Fire Service Association being part of the organisation, there is a concentration of firefighters, rescuers and civil protection personnel who are highly trained. You also have good numbers from commercial and non-commercial exhibitors, fire and rescue service organizations and disaster relief organizations.
