According to Svenska Mässan Stiftelse, ScanPack 2024 will be conducted as a face-to-face trade fair at the Svenska Mässan in late October 2024. October 22nd through October 25th, 2024 are the official dates. The venue will not include Covid-19 prevention measures because of the removal of the country's domestic regulations. Sweden's borders have no travel restrictions.
ScanPack is Northern Europe’s number one packaging exhibition and one of the primary markets to grow your business. The international exhibition has been running since 1964, so the brand is fully established and has a core audience built-in. As a result, you’re able to tap into a ready-made market, benefit from wide coverage and generate name recognition.
ScanPack oversees the entire value chain and one look over the product catalogue reveals innovations and product launches within packaging machinery and equipment, packaging materials, raw materials, digital printing presses, transport packs, RFID, biopack, computer-controlled equipment and dosing equipment
If you’re looking to create buzz for an upcoming product, then you can take part in the pitching sessions at the Turbo Talks, where you have two minutes to pitch your product to interested buyers. ScanPack is where you can also perform a deep analysis of the market for incoming trends.
ScanPack is based in Gothenburg, Sweden and the international exhibition is held every three years, usually in autumn, October to be precise. Editions run for four days and take place at the Svenska Mässan - The Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre. The Svenska Mässan Stiftelse, which runs the venue, also serves as the official organiser.
Doors are open only to professional visitors and working hours are from 09:00 am in the morning until 17:00 pm in the afternoon on the first three days. The last day opens at 10:00 am and concludes at 15:00 pm. You don’t need to think about renting a car to commute while in Gothenburg, because the exhibition centre is right in the heart of the city and you can easily walk to it, if you’re close enough. If not, you have three tram lines that stop directly at the grounds and airport bus service that also services Svenska Mässan.
What you can expect as an exhibitor
- An opportunity to connect with many buyers. ScanPack is above all else business-oriented & one of the main highlights for exhibitors is the chance to stand on the Turbo Talks stage in order to pitch their products for a total of two minutes;
- A great informational platform. Sign up for the ScanPack Academy and you will stay up to speed with the latest breakthroughs and market changes within the industry. The event value forward thinking and presents the best ideas and expertise in a focused program;
- A place of inspiration. One specific exhibit area on the show floor is reserved for the truly creative and awe-inspiring packaging designs out there. It’s where packaging crosses from the purely practical necessity into the realm of art – an aspect that consumers appreciate a great deal. Plus, there are some engaging paper folding workshops, where you can test your own skills.
Audience & statistics
Let’s investigate the numbers from the last edition of ScanPack. Organisers reveal that over 500 exhibitors have showcased products at last edition and the halls handled over 17,000 trade visitors from over 40 countries. Although the exhibition focuses mainly on the Northern region of Europe (meaning there are a lot of people from Scandinavian countries as well as EU states), there is also interest from the rest of the world.
Exhibitors for instance come from the East as well – Turkey, Taiwan and Japan to name a few. As an exhibitor, you have every reason to go, because roughly 65% of all visitors are serious about making a purchase after the fair and you’re surrounded by a great concentration of decision makers. There are production managers, departmental managers and marketing managers everywhere.
You will also be happy with the diversity in industries as visitors come from the food and beverage, chemicals, corrugated board packaging, advertising and marketing, wholesale and retail, packaging and transportation sectors.
