SILMO Paris and Covid-19
SILMO Paris 2022 will take place between September 23rd and September 26th, 2022. This live event will occur at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Parc d'Expositions. The hosting location will have strict COVID-19 prevention protocols. Precautions such as the 3G entry policy will be included. Participants must show documents such as proof of vaccination or recovery before entry. They can also opt for showing negative test results. Attendees should also take into consideration France's travel regulations. All travellers aged 12 and up will have 48 to 72 hours to present negative PCR tests after arrival.
Since 1967, the well-known trade show for optical products SILMO Paris has been setting the latest trends in glasses and ophthalmic lenses. That is why, if you wish to see the latest innovations in frames, lenses, optician’s equipment, and secure your rightful place among leading brands, you need to attend the event.
The history that spans six decades is enough to establish this event as one that has all eyes out on from celebrities to trade press. SILMO Paris has always been a bridge between the worlds of fashion and science as the product portfolio covers frames, raw materials, lenses and optical equipment.
The trade show is far more than just an opportunity to generate sales leads. It’s here to educate – two if the major highlights for the event include SILMO ACADEMY for optometrists and the Absolutely Fabulous Laboratory that glimpses into the cutting-edge innovation and design fields.
How can a fashion event in the capitol of fashion – Paris, France – be anything but an annual fest. Editions of SILMO Paris are scheduled to take place at the start of October and run for four days in total. Paris-Nord Villepinte Parc d'Expositions et Centre de Conventions is where the program takes place and COMEXPOSIUM serves as the official organiser.
Access is given to trade visitors only with current working hours listed for 09:00 am in the morning until 18:30 pm in the afternoon, but be sure to double check for any special events during SILMO Paris.
On the subject of getting to the exhibition centre, the easiest ways to do it is to grab a RER train. Do you happen to reside near Porte Maillot and the Beauvais Airport? You’ll be happy to learn that there are shuttle buses on a regular basis to make the commute to Paris-Nord Villepinte Parc d'Expositions a short one.
What to expect as an exhibitor
SILMO Paris is more than just a procurement platform, where all you do is promote your brand, but a rather welcoming environment that takes care of the community. Organisers have made provisions to employer and employee workshops that seek to develop skills and better working relationships;
Achieve prestige and success by entering the competition to be distinguished with a gold statuette from SILMO d’Or – the biggest award for the optics and eyewear markets. Getting an award guarantees publicity and a buzz surrounding your products that not only create a strong brand reputation, but materializes into sales;
SILMO Paris is always hard at work to push the envelope whether it would be through a creative expression or technological breakthrough. This is reflected in the number of events on the program that look into trends and innovations – SILMO Next, SILMO Hackathon and the Trends Forum are just a few examples that come to mind.
Audience & statistics
Attending SILMO Paris is money well spent as the trade show manages to grow at a steady pace with each new edition. Last edition had 970 exhibitors, which amounted to 1548 represented in a single space – that’s the entire value chain. Over 80% of all exhibitors came from abroad – a total of 42 countries.
Organisers reveal that on average they welcome over 200 new exhibitors with each new edition of the trade show. The audience exceeded 35,000 trade visitors – with 56% being foreign nationals. Another great statistic from the past is that 71% of all visitors have plans to make purchases and 85% of those follow through on their promise. That’s a good statistic to have as an exhibitor. The audience also breaks down into outlets, mutual channels, franchises, distributors and wholesalers.
