If you seek to establish a presence in either of these fields, then this is where you need to be. Not only is MIDO the natural choice to grow your professional network, it’s also where most trends are announced first.

Supplement your outing as an exhibitor with professional training and presentations at Otticlub. The exhibition space covers the entire product spectrum - materials, optics and optical instruments, spectacle frames, contact lenses and sports glasses. All easily found at the thematic sectors: Fashion district, Lenses, Design Lab, Lab Academy, Tech, MORE!, Press Village and FAiR East.
Update for MIDO 2024
The fair's 2024 edition will occur as a live trade show between 03.02.2024-05.02.2024. MIDO 2024 will be held at the Fiera Milano in the absence of Covid-19 prevention measures such as social distancing and obligatory face masks in event spaces. This is due to Italy removing its domestic pandemic-related restrictions. Participants arriving from China should note that because of the travel limitations, they will be asked to show upon arrival a negative test result no older than 48 hours.
As you will compete against 45,000 trade visitors for MIDO accommodation, you must book hotels near Fiera Milano. Trade Fair Trips Ltd can get you the best offers for hotels before anyone else. We specialise in convenience and cater to every price point, so you can book accommodation for trade shows and not amass great expenses.
You tell us your price range, optimal location and preferred accommodation type, and we create a custom list of hotels for MIDO tailored to your specific needs. In the end, you save time and energy commuting, which can be better put to use at the event.
We also assist with all other logistical tasks. Need someone to build your exhibition booth? We can get you a team. Wish to book a meeting room at the event? We can place the right facilities on hold in your name.

Mido Srl Unipersonale Italy brings editions of MIDO every single year in Milan, Italy. Editions last for three days in total and usually fall somewhere between late February and early March. The trade fair is open to industry insiders only and doors are open from 09:00 am until 19:00 pm for the first two days and until 18:00 pm on the last day
Next topic – the commute! If you’re not about to spend extra money on a rented car, that’s fine. Milan is one of the better connected cities. Commuters mainly rely on the Underground ATM Red Line M1 to get to Fiera Milano, but you can also grab three different city trains (S5, S6 and S11), which stop there at the exhibition centre.
What You Can Expect as an Exhibitor
- MIDO is a wide-reaching international B2B event, which means that priority falls on sales leads and networking – it’s the perfect environment to introduce yourself with leaders and work towards broader brand recognition;
- MIDO is actively endorsed by the Ministry of Economic Development, which in turn has resulted in the 150 top buyers to turn the trade fair into a stop every single year – for you this means big opportunities to close spectacular deals;
- MIDO is where trends are created, and now also predicted. Organisers have partnered with WSGN, whose role is to use their know-how and expertise to predict the trends bound to make the biggest waves in product and lifestyle evolution.
That’s all good to know, but how can you be sure to break even. If you’re not impressed to learn that the 150 biggest buyers are coming, then perhaps you’ll be convinced by the total turnout by over 59,000 trade visitors from all over the world.
MIDO explores opportunities in the European market, but enjoys far-reaching influence with interest from the Far East thanks to the FAIR East area on the show floor. All this attention is focused on the products of over 1300 exhibitors (there’s certainly been improvement in the numbers as there have been 110 first-time exhibitors). Visitors come from every part of the industry. You get to meet entrepreneurs, ophthalmologists, designers, buyers, opticians and the entire global eyewear supply chain.
The 2022 edition of MIDO was hosted between 30.04.2022 and 02.05.2022 as a hybrid trade show at the Fiera Milano Rho. The venue incorporated Covid-19 safety precautions like social distancing and the requirement to wear face masks in indoor and outdoor spaces. MIDO 2022 attracted over 660 exhibitors from 45 countries and 22,000 trade visitors from more than 50 nations.
The 2023 edition of MIDO occurred as a live trade show between 04.02.2023 and 06.02.2023 in Fiera Milano Rho. The hosting site did not incorporate Covid-19 safety measures because of the removal of the country's domestic restrictions. The edition was attended 35,000 visitors, with 80% travelling from Europe. This marked a 60% increase compared to the previous rendition. MIDO 2023 also featured over 1,000 exhibitors, with 72% travelling from abroad and over 380 journalists.
