Exhibitions in Paris, France for Defense

The Paris Region has distinguished itself as a global leader in the defense industry through a robust ecosystem of cutting-edge technology, world-renowned companies and a supportive ecosystem that fosters innovation and growth. This dynamic environment presents a wealth of opportunities for defense companies seeking to expand their reach and tap into cutting-edge advancements. Key to the Paris Region’s success in the defense industry is its deep-rooted presence of major national decision-making centers such as the French Defense Procurement Agency (DGA), which drives defense procurement and innovation programs. The presence of these decision makers within the region provides defense companies with direct access to policymakers and decision makers. Amidst this ecosystem of defense players, Airbus and Thales stand as renowned global leaders in the industry. Airbus, with its site in Elancourt dedicated to defense and space, and its helicopter blade factory in Dugny, employs thousands of skilled workers and contributes significantly to the region’s aerospace and defense prowess. Thales, with its expertise in avionics, navigation and communication systems, employs nearly 14,000 aerospace professionals across nearly 25 sites. These are the major players that drive forward Paris’ defense industry. Another name worth mentioning here is ONERA (the French Aeronautics, Space and Defense Research Lab). Established over seven decades ago, ONERA conducts world-class research and regularly achieves groundbreaking feats in addition to developing cutting-edge technologies. The French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) further strengthens the Paris Region’s position as a center for defense innovation. With its expertise in low-carbon energies, defense and security, information technologies and health technologies, the CEA maintains a significant R&D site in Saclay dedicated to military research. Altogether, these players create the ideal conditions to expand France’s defense sector and continue a long-standing legacy, which positions the country as a formidable force in Europe and an invaluable asset to NATO.
