The packing and packaging industry has found in Paris a convenient, strategic meeting point to unveil the latest advancements and chart the future of the sector. The city hosts several major fairs for the professional community, chief among which is Paris Packaging Week, which for 2025 has set a new industry benchmark. The edition welcomed 12,588 trade visitors—a 27% increase from last year. This marks the highest turnout in its 24-year history, which reinforces the event’s status as the premier platform for packaging innovation and design across luxury, drinks, beauty, and aerosol markets. A standout feature of this year’s event was the introduction of the Pentawards Festival, an initiative organized by the world’s largest brand design competition. The festival brought several new elements to the show, including a gallery of the 100 best packaging designs of the past year, live art performances by renowned artist Craig Black, a packaging design agency village, and high-profile speakers from brands such as Unilever, Carrefour, Nestlé, and Diageo. According to event director Josh Brooks, this expansion successfully attracted a larger number of professionals from the marketing and design community—something exhibitors from Paris’ packaging industry have long requested. Their presence added a fresh perspective to the fair. Paris Packaging Week 2025 hosted more than 190 industry experts who delivered over 30 hours of engaging sessions. From sustainability and the circular economy to artificial intelligence and innovative design, the conference program provided a wealth of knowledge. We’re talking about a total of 129 conferences held. One of the most highly attended sessions included PPWR and the 3Rsw, which posed the question What Consequences for Packaging? Industry leaders, regulatory experts, and CSR specialists examined the strategic integration of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle principles into packaging development.
