Exhibitions in Bologna, Italy for Consumer Goods

Bologna, predominantly associated with tourism and sightseeing, is nonetheless an important city for the Italian economy. Bologna’s consumer goods industry steps front and centre each year when Marca by BolognaFiere opens doors. The annual trade fair has grown into being a pivotal platform for the retail trade and private label industries. Editions are engines of innovation and sustainability in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, and have been essential programming for over twenty years. Since its inception in 2005, Marca has experienced remarkable growth, attracting a diverse array of exhibitors and visitors. The recent twentieth edition witnessed a surge in attendance with over 20,000 visitors, marking an 18% increase from the previous year. This growth parallels the expansion of exhibitors, totaling 1,100, and a significant increase in exhibition space. Marca offers a comprehensive overview of product availability across various categories, including food, personal care, household and pet products among others. The show floor is meticulously organized to highlight distinct sectors catering to different consumer needs. From gourmet delicacies to innovative packaging solutions, Marca showcases the breadth and depth of the consumer goods landscape. One of Marca’s key highlights is the International Buyers Lounge, where over 2,400 business meetings were facilitated between international buyers and exhibitors. This platform fosters collaboration and partnership opportunities, and drives business growth and market expansion. It’s here that Italian brands can reach interested buyers and establish a presence in faraway markets. Marca's significance extends beyond the exhibition floor as government officials and industry leaders acknowledge its pivotal role in promoting the private label market. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, alongside other dignitaries, was in attendance during the most recent edition in honour of its twentieth edition. The event also garnered extensive media coverage, with over 750 journalists accredited, further amplifying its reach and impact.
