Intergastra has been running successfully since 1967. In the half-century it’s been running, the event has managed to assert itself centrally in the HoReCa industry on a significant international level. The international exhibition is not just a purchasing platform, but a competitive environment for skilled chefs to demonstrate their expertise in competitions in the form of the much-loved Culinary Olympics, as well as receive further training. The show floor is divided into several themed zones, like Gelatissimo (where products and technologies pertaining to the ice cream and confectionery industries are showcased). That is only a sliver of the product wealth on display. Stuttgart, Germany welcomes editions of Intergastra every two years (currently falling on even years) and each edition runs for five days during the first quarter of the year. The exhibition usually falls in the middle of February and only trade visitors are admitted. Messe Stuttgart fulfills duties as the official organiser and host. Doors open from 10:00 am in the morning and close at 18:00 pm in the afternoon. Commuters have an easy time arriving at Messe Stuttgart via the city motorways and there’s ample parking spaces available. Stuttgart Airport can be reached directly in minutes via special transport services. In terms of public transport, visitors have access to buses and the suburban train system.

Intergastra receives much needed support in organisation and conceptual guidance from two major organisations – DEHOGA (German Hotel and Restaurant Association) and the German Chefs Association. This cooperation has helped the exhibition to blossom into what it is right now – a thriving procurement platform with the participation of more than 1400 exhibitors and 98,000 trade visitors. As to who attends, it’s a short answer – everyone involved in the HoReCa sector. This means buyers and decision makers involved with the food and kitchens, hotels, equipment and ambience, service & IT, beverages, coffee and ice cream. That’s only one side of the audience. We have to mention the abundance of culinary professionals – some 2000 travel to Intergastra in order to compete in the number of competitions.
INTERGASTRA 2024
The 2024 edition of INTERGASTRA was a live trade fair. It occurred in Messe Stuttgart and was attended by over 1,300 exhibitors from 22 countries and 88,000 visitors from 98 nations. It coincided with GELATISSIMO 2024.
