ISPO is the brainchild of Messe Munich, while Amsterdam RAI serves as the official hosting site, along with the generous support and sponsorship from VDS (Verband Deutscher Sportfachhandel) and BSI (Bundesverband der Deutschen Sportartikel-Industrie) – two noteworthy sports organisations in Germany.
Editions arrive early each year, either at the end of January or the start of February. They last for four days in total. Only trade visitors are admitted, and the working hours are from 09:00 am until 18:00 pm. The fourth day closes one hour earlier at 5:00 pm.
If you are not commuting via car to Amsterdam RAI, you can easily rely on public transport to get you there. Between the suburban trains and the metro, you are all set for a quick commute.
As you have read above, some exceptional brands exhibit at ISPO, which should be your prompt to do so. Yet, if you are looking to understand how lucrative the trade show is, note the numbers this event generates. Over 2800 exhibitors fill the halls at Amsterdam RAI, and that, in turn, attracts over 80,000 trade visitors. The geographical breakdown of the audience reveals that the biggest markets you have access to cover are Italy, Austria, France, Switzerland, Great Britain and the Russian Federation.
As a whole, there is a near-unanimous satisfaction with ISPO among exhibitors and visitors alike, with the high 90s in terms of percentages. In terms of professional background, you meet with professionals involved with rights and licences, designers, retailers and distributors, brand manufacturers, sports directors, sports physicians and wholesalers.

What Are People Saying?
“We had a fantastic season and a great ISPO. Last year, people said skiing was dead – but the exact opposite is actually the case! The early snow has inspired everybody. It is fun being here. ISPO is extremely important, especially for our international customers. We were able to get nearly every good international customer through the trade fair,” –Hans Taubenberger, CEO at Toni Sailer;
“Of course, trade fairs today serve a different purpose than they used to - when you could derive the financial value of a fair directly from the orders. Today it is about seeing and discussing our customers,” - Martin Nordin, CEO Fenix Outdoor International AG;
“ISPO has created a platform to come together and further develop the opportunities of the digital transformation for retailers and brands. We are back as market leaders to openly and transparently demonstrate our engagement with retailers who see this as a clear opportunity,” Roland Auschel, executive board member at Adidas.
