Royal Highland Show
An iconic Scottish agricultural event
The United Kingdom has a long history of supporting and promoting the labour of its agricultural industry, and the Royal Highland Show is a living testament to this rich history. The show generates quite a sizeable sum of income for the local economy (the most recent estimate places the economic benefit at 65 million pounds) every year. It has been consistently running for over two centuries, with the first-ever edition held back in 1784. The Royal Highland Center has literally gone through all the major developments in farming and animal breeding. Today, the product portfolio extends to the entire value chain. This includes stands dedicated to agricultural machinery and supplies, equine supplies, outdoor sporting goods, agricultural implements and tools, breeding cattle, horticulture, plant protection and forestry, wooden products, household items, flowers, and fertilizers. We also need to highlight the community-building element, which manifests in live entertainment, live food demonstrations, and great spots to eat and drink.
Royal Highland Show 2025
The Royal Highland Show's 2025 edition will be hosted at the Royal Highland Center in the UK. The event will be held between the dates 19.06.2025 and 22.06.2025.

The Royal Highland Show has claimed June as its month and every year it arrives at the massive Royal Highland Centre right outside Edinburgh, where there is enough green, outdoor space for all the exhibitors, visitors, and programming. The show runs for a total of four days and the organisers are the Royal Highland & Agricultural Society of Scotland, along with The Royal Bank of Scotland as a supporter. Admission is open to the public from local areas as well as professionals in the agricultural industry. Opening hours are from 08:00 am until 19:00 pm. The Royal Highland Center might be outside the city, but neighbours Edinburgh Airport and has good connections to the city centre through the M8 and M9 motorways. It’s really easy to drive to the exhibition centre and find sufficient parking on the grounds.
- The Royal Highland Show is a historical institution and wins big in terms of the numbers of visitors and businesses it attracts, so you have all the more incentive to exhibit: the show opens you up so much foot traffic exposure among trade visitors and the public;
- There have always been high-profile visitors at the Royal Highland Show including many members of the Royal Family, including Queen Elizabeth II, Anne, Princess Royal as well as Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester.
- The presence of royals only adds to the appeal and the legitimacy of the show and further motivates exhibitors;
- The Royal Highland Show has ways to engage the audience and guide foot traffic to your products and services through excellent programming and themed areas. The upcoming edition will brand back popular items like Heavy Horse Turnouts, The Forge, The Forestry Arena, The Countryside Area and Sheep Shearing.
What does a historical trade show like this achieve during an edition? Exhibitors will be pleased to learn that products and services from 1000+ international exhibitors are displayed in front of a dynamic audience that often reaches around 190,000 visitors. The Royal Highland Show is the chief meeting place for farmers and breeders so there are numerous livestock competitions – 900 to be precise. This prompts the presence of 2150 livestock competitors and 6500 animals in total. There is a lot to explore and enjoy through the shopping, and food and drink arena. The majority of exhibitors are Scottish by nationality, but other manufacturers from Europe bring their spirits and delicatessen to the forefront. One of the most interesting aspect of the Royal Highland Show is the presence of businesses, who function as supporters of the agricultural sectors such as banks and supermarkets and food producers.
