Suffolk's lead agricultural show
The Suffolk Show proudly upholds the lengthy tradition of the county show, as it’s on its way to reach its second century. The county show has seen different versions over the centuries with the earliest edition being traced back to 1832 a year after the incorporation of the Suffolk Agricultural Association, which organises it. There’s lots to be excited about as an exhibitor, because the two days of activities bring renewed interest into local production and manufacturing. Trade stands do very well and cover everything to do with the rural lifestyle – artisanal goods, crafts and art, fresh produce and fruit, tractors, trailers, diggers, cultivators, drills, muck spreaders, forage harvesters and sprayers among others. Visitors are drawn to the opportunity to interact with farm animals in person, which is available at the Farm Discovery Zone. We also can’t discount the appeal of military history, as embodied by the line-up of military vehicles at the Military Zone.

The Suffolk Agricultural Association organise the Suffolk Show at the massive Trinity Park in the Purdis Farm area, which is easily accessible by car and other means of transportation. Activities run two full days. The gates are open from 07:00 am, with last admission at 19:00 on the first day and until 17:30 pm on the second day. Be sure to check out additional schedules for the Grand Ring programme and the live band performances. Trade stands have different closing times compared to the main gates. Visitors are able to reach the Suffolk Show directly by bus and coach service. Getting to Ipswich Park by train is another good option, because the Ipswich railway station is located 5 miles away from the park grounds.
- The Suffolk Show banks on its longevity as a continued inspiration for visitors to attend, which means one thing for exhibitors – a stable annual platform to drive direct sales and gain name recognition in the county;
- The Suffolk Show has a distinctly local flavour, which means that exhibitors will be able to meet and engage the same audience year in and year out. This only strengthens your market position in Suffolk and ensures higher return customers;
- Aside from retail and entertainment, the Suffolk Show aims to preserve the agricultural way of life in Suffolk and therefore there are many educational programmes aimed at the younger generations.
The Suffolk Show opens its door to everybody, and that translates to a lot of different groups of visitors and exhibitors in the mix. On average, organisers have confirmed that the show draws in more than 90,000 visitors from all over the county. Because of its focus on local community, it’s not a surprise that most visitors are native to Suffolk, though there are people who attend the event from neighbouring counties for a good time and the fireworks show. The Farm Zone and exhibition of thousands of animals attract agricultural farmers and animal breeders alike, whereas the Garden Zone sees interest from growers, nurseries, garden centres and florists. Skilled artisans are also an integral part of the Suffolk Show. Perhaps the biggest group at the Suffolk Show are families with children, with family quality time in mind. Major sponsors for the show include EDF, Collins and Adnams Southworld.
