The footwear industry's global lead event
Competition is fierce within the footwear design and manufacturing, so the best way to put your brand on the map is to be a regular face at the MICAM. First held in 1969, the international shoe trade fair is considered as the largest in Italy and at a top position worldwide. The MICAM serves as a natural converging point for all the freshest trends, since exhibitors tend to present their newest collections at this stage first. It’s not just static displays, either. Part of the fair’s DNA are the big, dynamic runway shows that fully show off the quality and style of the collections. The product portfolio is fairly extensive, covering footwear for men, women and children, but also carving out a niche space for leather bags, leather clothing and leather accessories. It’s fair to say the MICAM is where you elevate your brand, meet with serious buyers and receive press coverage.
MICAM 2025

In order to keep up with the fashion trends, the MICAM occurs twice a year in the city of Milan, Italy – a major fashion capitol in Europe. The first edition is held in February, which captures the winter and spring collections, and the second is held in September, which showcases what’s new for summer and fall. Duration stays at a total of four days, and it’s open to trade visitors only. The organiser for the MICAM is MICAM Milano with generous support from Assocalzaturifici Italiani – Italian National Footwear Manufacturers' Association and the venue is Fieramilano. Working hours are set from 09:30 am until 19:00 pm on the first three days and until 16:00 pm on closing day. Fiera Milano might be outside the city, but you don’t need to rent a car to commute there, as you have access to the Underground ATM Red Line M1 and the city rail system.
What You Can Expect as an Exhibitor?
- Considerable focus on nurturing new talent in the industry. One of the best loved areas in the MICAM is the Emerging Designers sector, where you’re able to discover new talent in the making;
- Continued interest in sustainability through the launch of a new initiative called MICAM X – a series of workshops, events, lectures, shows, and installations that search for new ways of manufacturing and new materials;
- It’s not about only business, although that’s a great part of the MICAM. At the same time, there is much to be gained from simply immersing yourself into the fun. This can vary from sitting at the unforgettable fashion show, watch sports performances in the Player’s District, or competing for one of the coveted Fashion Award.
Let’s talk about the reason you should be investing in the MICAM. The show is successful on all levels from acclaim, press coverage and visitor numbers. Each edition averages around over 1400 exhibitors and roughly 45,000 trade visitors. Those are strong numbers that guarantee plenty of attention and sales leads during the course of four days. It’s here that more than 2000 collections are presented. In terms of nationalities, 750 of the exhibitors are Italian, which is to be expected as the Italian footwear market is sizeable and competitive worldwide. The remaining 650 exhibitors come from over 30 countries, mostly located in Europe. Around 27,000 trade visitors are also foreign nationals and represent more than 130 countries.
