WindEnergy invests a lot in showcasing the latest technological breakthroughs and policy changes in the wind industry, energy sector, offshore and onshore fields. The international exhibition has you fully immerse yourself in a passionate and creative environment, which tackles all the pressing issues facing the wind sector and focus on storage technologies. This is your chance to network with the big decision makers and form lasting partnerships.

Existing in its current form since 2014, WindEnergy brings together all the major players in the wind industry and represents the entire value chain. The product breadth includes wind turbines, components, new materials, installation, planning, operation and maintenance, energy storage, finances, services and on/offshore.

One of the biggest draws for industry professionals is the conference program, which focuses with laser precision on timely and significant issues like dynamic markets, smart energy and cost efficiency.

WindEnergy first arrived as an annual event held in Husum, Germany, but has since migrated to Hamburg and follows a biennial format. Editions arrive in September usually and have a duration of four days in total. WindEnergy rolls out at Messe Hamburg alongside WindEurope Conference & Exhibition. The international trade fair is the joint brainchild of Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH and Messe Husum & Congress GmbH, and enjoys the generous support from two major German institutions – the VDMA and BWE.

Entry is afforded only to professional visitors and work hours are set from 09:00 am until 18:00 pm on the first three days. The closing day wraps up at 16:00 pm. Messe Hamburg offers visitors multiple ways to reach its premises without having to rent a car. First, there’s the S-Bahn and U-Bahn, which are most reliable and fastest, and then you also have several bus lines.

“Recent years have seen a rapid evolution in the wind industry. The Global Wind Summit is about harnessing all that innovation and creating new potential for wind, worldwide. Electrification and sector-coupling are two major tools for unleashing the full potential of wind energy – onshore and offshore – and I look forward to discussing this in Hamburg in September.” – Philippe Kavafyan, Chief Executive Officer, MHI Vestas;

“Decarbonising the world’s energy mix means fully exploiting the potential of renewables in the power, transport and building sectors. The Global Wind Summit is where we can set an agenda for sector-coupling and electrification to plan for a cleaner, greener world,” – Anja-Isabel Dotzenrath, Chief Executive Officer, E.ON Climate and Renewables;

“The wind industry is breaking new ground in every respect today: geographically and economically, technologically and even politically. The Global Wind Summit Is where all stakeholders will gather around a unified vision for the industry, worldwide, to ensure we continue breaking new ground in the future,” – Hans-Dieter Kettwig, Managing Director, Enercon.

The number fully support the claim that WindEnergy is a fully unifying event for the wind industry as it enjoys the participation of over 1400 exhibitors, which represent the efforts of 40 countries, and this in turn results in attendance rates of up to 35,000 professionals, which come from the world over.

45% of the audience consists of foreign internationals that travel from 100 countries. Most markets are based in Europe, but you also get to network with professionals from Asia and the Americas. Besides high-ranking officials and buyers, who else are you going to meet? The list is varied – designers, manufacturers, suppliers, financiers, operators and service providers of the offshore as well as the onshore industry.
