CREATIVA has been the beating heart of the arts and crafts industry in Dortmund. For over four decades, this trade fair has been at the forefront of showcasing the latest trends and innovations in the arts and crafts industry. As Europe’s largest show for the creative community, it captivates amateur and freelance artists, teachers, students and self-employed individuals alike. Each March, Messe Dortmund comes alive with international exhibitors, influencers and creatives and each edition produces a special creative report that outlines the most relevant trends – a helpful tool for local and foreign manufacturers. Renowned artists such as Janine Heschl and 'Plottertante' are regularly featured and inspire visitors with their new projects. In 2023, CREATIVA went out to feature around 30 artists from Ukraine, who showcased traditional handicrafts and cultural heritage items, which added a unique dimension to the event. CREATIVA covers a wide spectrum of creative activities, catering to various interests and passions. Handicrafts, fabrics, painting, design, fashion and education – all find themselves represented on the stage. The show offers something for every creative mind. Visitors explore interactive exhibitions, engage in workshops and discover innovative products across different focus areas, fostering inspiration and creativity. With around 370 exhibitors from 17 countries, CREATIVA presents a diverse portfolio of new as well as established products, techniques and designs. The trade show maintains a high level of international participation as suppliers come from Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, India, Nepal and Uzbekistan to showcase their products. In addition to the main exhibition, CREATIVA creates highly specialized experiences such as CREATIVA NEO, CREATIVA Puppen&Bären (dolls and bears), CREATIVA PerlenExpo (pearl exhibition) and CREATIVA LandGarten (country gardens) as a way to cater to specific niches of the arts and crafts world better. These curated showcases offer unique insights and highly targeted customer flow.
