CREATIVA 2024 is one of the hubs of economic activity for the home and lifestyle industry in Dortmund. The event is considered Europe’s largest trade show for the creative community. This year’s edition, punctuated by reunions, dialogue and workshops, attracted a diverse audience eager to immerse themselves in the latest trends in handicrafts, machine embroidery, and crocheting. The overarching theme of pure creativity was evident throughout the event, making it a haven for design and craftsmanship enthusiasts. The supporting program maintained a high level as always. Show acts, interactive features, fashion shows, and appearances by celebrity guests complemented the trade show offerings, providing a rich and engaging experience for attendees. Rigorous year-on-year evolution has distinguished CREATIVA as Europe's largest trade show for the creative community. A notable highlight of CREATIVA 2024 was the introduction of the SUSTAINABLE CITY, which incorporated the growing movement towards sustainability within the home and lifestyle industry within the show’s DNA. This section showcased naturally produced inks and paints from plants and chalk, hemp paper, and other natural materials. Special exhibits provided visitors with hands-on experiences in sustainable crafting. A survey revealed that over half of the visitors prioritize purchasing sustainable materials, reflecting a significant shift towards eco-conscious creativity. The CREATIVA Stage was another focal point, offering creative inspiration from experts, and all visitors were spoiled for choice. There were fashion shows by emerging designers from Hönne-Berufskolleg and Paulina's Friends Fashion as well as presentations that explored the integration of app-based artificial intelligence in creative work, highlighting the intersection of technology and creativity. Numerous interviews with notable figures in the creative community added to the program’s richness. A standout moment was the appearance of Carlo Sommer, known as 'casacarlo,' who joined Miriam Jug, a.k.a. Plottertante, for a discussion on creativity and plotting activities.
