Exhibitions in Munich, Germany for Home & Lifestyle

The home and lifestyle industry in Munich heavily relies on trade fairs to drum up business and expose local brands and retailers to a much wider audience. One of the best examples is the IHM (International Crafts Fair), held in conjunction with Garden Munich, “Handwerk & Design,” and FOOD & LIFE. In 2024, a total of 812 exhibitors from 60 trades presented products and insights into current trends, attracting over 91,000 visitors. This year’s event also featured the FUTURE CRAFT specialist congress. Visitors are treated to a comprehensive display of craftsmanship, ranging from individual pieces to impressive works made of natural stone and innovative technologies for home improvement. The fair offers a unique opportunity for personal interactions as attendees are able to receive on-site advice and engage in live demonstrations. Craftsmanship, floristry, gastronomy, and arts and crafts – all is on display, curated and further contextualized by experts. Visitors interested in taking up a profession in these fields can inquire more about training and career opportunities Casual shopping and product sourcing aside, IHM does its due by highlighting exceptional work done over the year with several major awards. The Federal Prize for outstanding innovative achievements in the craft sector and the Bavarian State Prizes for special achievements in technology and design were awarded to 25 exhibitors. The carpentry trade received special recognition with a federal award from the Federal Association of Carpenters and Carpenters in Germany (TSD), which honored the best craftsmen's pieces biennially.
