Munich has become an active hub for the eyewear industry in Germany thanks to the success of the international trade fair for eyewear and optics, opti. The 2024 edition solidified partnerships and was met with rave reviews. The success of opti lies in the meticulous planning and extensive personal contacts maintained by the opti team with industry players, trade media, and associations. This year’s event attracted 21,500 visitors, including a substantial proportion of decision-makers - about 60% - from 70 different countries. The diversity and volume of attendees spoke to the fair’s international appeal and its role as a critical meeting point for the global ophthalmic community. Visitors to opti 2024 were treated to a great atmosphere and a comprehensive program that included new formats for knowledge exchange, sales, and dialogue. The event received high marks from attendees with 82.4% of visitors indicating plans to place orders or commission assignments following the trade show. The fair boasted nearly 390 exhibitors from 28 countries, representing the entire optical supply chain. These exhibitors showcased everything from machinery and shopfitting to contact lenses and spectacle lenses, alongside frames from both leading brands and emerging independent designers. Opti 2024 served as a launch pad for new trends and innovations within the eyewear industry. The event highlighted the latest advancements in eyewear technology, including smart glasses and sustainable materials, which are increasingly becoming focal points for both manufacturers and consumers. The emphasis on innovation and quality reflects broader industry trends where consumers are looking for products that not only enhance vision but also align with their personal style and environmental values.
