Exhibitions in Leipzig, Germany for Jewelry

The jewelry industry in Leipzig is well represented and fostered through the arrival of MIDORA every September. The trade fair is a reliable source of business for German brands and maintains a solid reputation for dependability and quality. The 2023 edition only reinforced its status as a key event in the jewelry industry calendar. Boasting over 100 exhibitors, with 95% representing Germany, MIDORA continues to garner a high level of satisfaction among participants. The event featured a diverse range of offerings from real jewelry collections to stylish trend pieces and popular costume jewelry and accessories. With 82% of exhibitors being regular participants, and 74% confirming their attendance for the next edition, MIDORA demonstrates its enduring appeal and importance to the industry. Amid concerns about a shortage of skilled workers, MIDORA 2023 hosted discussions led by industry experts on tackling this pressing issue. The Central Association of German Gold and Silversmiths played a pivotal role here. MIDORA placed a special emphasis on fostering training opportunities for students, recognizing the need to inspire and educate the next generation of craftsmen and artisans. Young people were offered unique insights into apprenticeships as watchmakers, goldsmiths and even wooden toy makers, highlighting the diverse career paths available within the craft industry. Michael Seubert, President of the Central Association of German Gold and Silversmiths, called for decisive action from policymakers to strengthen the industry. He emphasized the importance of reintroducing the requirement for master craftsmen, arguing that this would elevate training standards and enhance the profession's attractiveness. To incentivize companies to provide training, the association launched a training offensive, offering financial incentives such as refunding membership fees and awarding material vouchers. These initiatives aim to support both training companies and aspiring artisans, ensuring a sustainable future for the craft industry.
