We can’t talk about the industrial engineering industry in Leipzig without talking about the active event circuit in the city, which recently played host to a groundbreaking event in the industrial engineering sector – Intec, Z, and GrindTec. This trio of trade fairs has solidified its position as a premier international gathering for the European metals processing, subcontracting, and machine tool industries. The 2023 edition not only met but exceeded expectations. The effectiveness of the co-located fairs was evident in the overwhelmingly positive feedback from both exhibitors and visitors. According to official surveys, 88% of exhibitors reported achieving their trade fair goals. The event attracted a diverse range of participants from global market leaders to innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Notably, the fair’s appeal extended beyond Germany, drawing visitors from around the globe, which positioned local exhibitors from Leipzig’s industrial engineering industry in front of some of the biggest international buyers. This year's Z trade fair featured impressive international representation, with collective stands from Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, and Italy. The Italian presence was particularly notable with companies like Falascotech showcasing their innovations. The CONTACT Business Meetings was a notable highlight, which saw about 190 participants from 22 countries engaging in meaningful exchanges. The conference program was a highlight of the trade fair trio, focusing on key industry trends and future-oriented technologies. Topics such as additive manufacturing, sensor technology, and hydrogen’s added value were explored in depth, drawing significant interest from attendees. Special events, including the Industry's Hidden Champions Conference and Industry Specialists Day, provided additional platforms for professional dialogue and knowledge sharing. GrindTec’s conference program was equally impressive, featuring a wide array of presentations on tool-grinding topics. The GrindTec INNOVATION AWARD celebrated innovation and sustainability, with Adelbert Haas's Multigrind® Multimation taking home the top prize.
