Exhibitions in Düsseldorf, Germany for Packing & Packaging

Düsseldorf is one of the most active hubs for the packing and packaging industry in Germany with its hosting duties of Interpack— the world’s largest and most influential packaging trade fair. The numbers certainly support this narrative (143,000 visitors, 155 countries, 2,807 exhibitors). The 2023 edition returned fully in person under the banner “Welcome Home,” and didn’t disappoint in spotlighting groundbreaking technologies and solutions. Interpack 2023 reflected the industry's shifting priorities, with a focus on four key themes: circular economy, resource management, digital technologies, and product safety. Sustainability, in particular, was a dominant topic, as exhibitors introduced high-tech solutions that enhance efficiency while reducing environmental impact. It was a timely conversation as the packing and packaging industry in Düsseldorf has to adapt to tightening regulations surrounding packaging waste. A record-breaking 1,000 exhibitors in the packaging materials segment alone demonstrated new eco-friendly packaging concepts. Automation was another major trend, as companies put forth their solutions designed to optimize packaging processes in response to evolving market demands. The drive toward smarter, more efficient production methods was evident, and digital technologies turned out a starring role due to their ability enhance sustainability and operational effectiveness. Special exhibitions further enriched the event, with the Interpack Start-up Zone highlighting emerging businesses with cutting-edge packaging innovations. The Co-Packing joint stand showcased collaborative solutions that improve supply chain efficiency, while award ceremonies celebrated pioneering packaging developments. One standout initiative was the Save Food Highlight-Route, which emphasized new strategies to combat global food loss and waste. A notable first for Interpack was the Women in Packaging event, which gathered approximately 200 female professionals from around the world. This initiative not only promoted diversity within the industry but also fostered networking and knowledge-sharing among women leaders in the field. All in all, the returning edition proved why Düsseldorf is a vital player in Germany’s sector.
