The Association of the German video game industry (game – der Verband der deutschen Games-Branche as you’ll encounter it in Germany) organises Gamescom every single year with editions held around August. Gamescom 2022
The hybrid Gamescom 2022 set a new attendance rate for the trade show. The event, which took place as a live trade fair complemented by an online platform from August 23rd to August 28th, 2022, attracted 265,000 attendees from over 100 nations and 1,100 exhibitors from 53 countries (75% of whom were from abroad). Over the course of the programme, the supplementary virtual platform received 130 million views, including 12 million dedicated to Opening Night Live. It was the top global trend on Twitter ten minutes after the edition's premiere.
Gamescom 2023
The 2023 edition of Gamescom featured a new international digital reach record. It received over 180,000,000 video views. Over 20,000,000 of them took place during Opening Night Live. The live trade fair, held between 23.08.2023 and 26.08.2023, was attended by 320,000 visitors from more than 100 countries and 1,227 exhibitors from 63 nations. Over 31,000 of the visiting (a 25% increase compared to 2022) were trade attendees, with 50% travelling from a foreign country. 76% of the exhibiting were likewise from abroad. More than 80 000 attendees attended the Gamescom City Festival held on the last two days on the event. The trade fair took place on approximately 230,000 m2.
Gamescom 2024
The 2024 edition of Gamescom was held as a live trade fair between 21.08.2024 and 25.08.2024 on around 230,000 m2 of event space, including 48 country pavilions. It featured 335,000 visitors, including over 32,000 trade and approximately 80,000 Gamescom Festival attendees. Around 120 countries were represented by the visitants. They examined the wares of over 1,460 exhibitions from 64 nations (71% from abroad). The event featured more than 310,000,000 digital engagements, with over 40,000,000 taking place during Gamescoom 2024 Opening Night Live. Also, the events Community Adventure Epix page received 2,500,000 page views.
