the TOY FAIR
In terms of achievements, progressive ideas and innovations in the toy industry, the Toy Fair is the international trade fair that you should visit. First held in 1954, Toy Fair (or London Toy Fair in some instances) sees interest from all over the world and showcases high-quality toys, games and hobbies products. It’s where you come to move products off shelves, diversify revenue streams as well as take a deep dive into the latest trends to come out of the industry. In terms of products, the entire value chain is present – wooden toys, party games, applied arts, dolls, plushies and children’s books, puzzles, model toys, smart toys, electronic toys and train sets. You can even see complex toys in action at the Demo Zone. There are other programming highlights that elevate exhibitors’ experience like the Toymaster Members Lounge and Toy Fair TV Studio.
Toy Fair is held in London, UK and editions arrive every single year at the start of the calendar usually in early January. Editions last for three days total and take place at the Olympia London exhibition centre. The official organiser for the event is the British Toy and Hobby Association and admission is given to only trade visitors. Doors open from 09:00 am in the morning until 18:00 pm in the afternoon on the first two days, and half an hour on the last day. Located right next to the Kensington railway station, Olympia London exhibition centre has multiple ways to ensure you reach it in a speedy way. You can take the metro, use the Overground line or take the main railway to any direction in London you want. That’s excluding the number of bus lines that service the area.
What Are People Saying?
“This was our first Toy Fair and we’ve been blown away by the quality of not only the delegates, but the event on the whole. We’ve had a number of fantastic leads with some of the country’s best known retailers. We’re very excited about bringing the Birdie to the UK,” – Michael Fulton, Bird;
“It’s the first time Moose Toys has exhibited at Toy Fair and we’ve had an incredibly positive reception. As one of the fastest growing toy companies in the UK, we’re investing heavily into our UK business for 2020 and the Fair has been the best platform to showcase our innovative products across preschool to collectibles,” – Neil Sinner, Moose;
“Seeing our brans presented in their best format, having positive feedback from out clients and feeling the power of a team pulling together are what makes London Toy Fair such an important date in our calendar. It’s hard work in the preparation but provides an invaluable start to the year,” – Mary Wood, Tomy.
