Exhibitions in Nurnberg, Germany for Sports & Fitness

A less explored aspect of the sports and fitness industry in Germany is the outdoor sector that spans everything from hiking to shooting and hunting. Nuremberg covers this niche and is host to one of the most relevant outdoors trade show. We’re talking, of course, about the one and only IWA OutdoorClassics. The 2025 edition once again reinforced its status as the world’s leading event for hunting, shooting sports, and outdoor equipment as it drew a massive crowd of 30,000 visitors. As is the trend with other events across the country, the latest edition heavily invested in the increase of visitor quality, thanks to a newly introduced legitimation process. Exhibitors reported more targeted interactions, and many emphasized the international character of the event. Central to the experience of many attendees was the SHOOTING EXPERTS' Stage. This interactive platform brought together thought leaders, policymakers and professionals to discuss the most pressing issues facing the industry. From retail strategy to regulatory compliance, the sessions offered insights designed to help businesses not only survive but grow in an increasingly complex environment. Magnus Ohlsson, an international expert on retail transformation, explored how specialist dealers can adapt to rapidly changing consumer expectations. His presentation addressed the need for modern retail design, streamlined logistics, and innovative in-store experiences to help niche retailers remain competitive. Another major theme was digital communication. Marketing experts like Amelie Eichinger-Noll and Christine Fischer outlined how retailers can strategically use social media to attract and retain customers. Their talks focused on storytelling, authenticity, and legal pitfalls in online communication. The legal landscape also played a prominent role. The Verband Deutscher Büchsenmacher und Waffenfachhändler (VDB) offered practical guidance on navigating Germany’s evolving weapons laws, helping dealers and manufacturers better understand their obligations and opportunities.
