Exhibitions in Nurnberg, Germany for Stone

The stone industry has a dedicated home in Nuremberg as the city hosts Stone+tec every two years, an event whose popularity doesn’t seem to wave over the years. In fact, it’s gotten bigger and bigger every single edition with the 2024 event scoring its highest audience yet (over 10,000 professionals). Yes, the vast majority were from Germany and neighboring European countries, but also from as far afield as India and China. The trade fair has come to be regarded as a top meeting place for professionals and has turned Nuremberg into one of the most important hubs in European stone trade. The exhibition’s wide-ranging thematic areas, which included Building with Natural Stone, Equipment for Professionals, Place of Remembrance, and Design with Tiles, reflected the growing versatility of the industry. A highlight of the event was the presentation of the prestigious German Natural Stone Award, which recognizes excellence in architecture that integrates natural stone in sustainable and innovative ways. Also notable was the competition for young talent, organized by the Federal Association of German Stonemasons (BIV), with winners honored during the BIV’s 75th anniversary celebrations held at the fair. Nuremberg’s stone industry benefits the most from the fair’s congress, which presents many opportunities to create contacts and gain training. Attendance at the congress increased compared to previous editions, indicating a growing appetite for knowledge-sharing and professional development within the sector. The living workshop, with its dynamic lectures, live demonstrations, and practical sessions, added an engaging and educational layer to the event. 2024 saw the debut of Tile+tec, which added tiles to the product portfolio. While initial participation was cautious (not necessarily surprising given the wider economic uncertainties in the construction and interior design sectors) the new addition was deemed a success by organizers and is expected to grow in future editions.
