Frankfurt is one of the most active hubs for the HVAC industry in Germany in no small part due to its hosting ISH, the world's premier trade fair for HVAC + Water. The event is a hotspot for the trends in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) sector. The latest edition shone a light on self-sufficient and sustainable alternatives, which reflected the strengthening of emerging trends surrounding eco-friendly solutions and resource-efficient practices. ISH is the backbone of Frankfurt’s air conditioning industry as it connects local manufacturers with international buyers. With 2025 exhibitors from 54 countries, ISH facilitates a rich exchange of ideas and solutions. The focus on marketable and sustainable alternatives took center stage. The urgency for brand new approaches was palpable against the backdrop of global challenges from geopolitical conflicts to the ongoing pandemic and economic uncertainties. Nowhere was this urgency more apparent than in the ISH Energy section, where attendees thronged exhibition halls to explore groundbreaking products and systems. The resounding question on everyone's lips was “When can you supply?” It’s perhaps here that the main economic challenges before the entire HVAC sectors take shape fully – inflation, supply chain disruptions, growing energy costs. Still, ISH remains with eyes set firmly ahead on the technological front with hybrid heat pump technologies and intelligent automation systems generating ample conversations. Discussions delved into the possibilities of hydrogen infusion and the optimization of solar technology. The overarching themes were clear – saving energy, reducing costs, and curbing CO2 emissions. More than a lucrative showcase, ISH charted out a fresh course for the HVAC industry as a whole with sustainability as its guiding star.
