Hamburg is ready to stake its claim in the larger dealings in the German boating market. The secret to Hamburg’s boating industry is the newly established HAMBURG YACHTFESTIVAL, which made waves in September 2023. The Hamburg marina naturally lends itself as the ideal stage for boat builders and yacht brands to make a memorable showcase to enthusiasts in the region. Situated in Wedel on the Elbe, Germany’s largest leisure boat harbor, the festival is on the fast tracks to becoming a lively gathering point as it brings novice and experienced fans from Hamburg, the Elbe, and the North Sea. Under the banner of ""Boating! Live!"", visitors were treated to what can be best described as an immersive experience into the world of yachting. For three days, the marina buzzed with excitement as visitors explored a wealth of products and services showcased directly on the Elbe. The HAMBURG YACHTFESTIVAL provided a fresh, exciting platform for companies and brands to engage directly with customers via workshops, live demonstrations and hands-on activities that left a lasting impression. The festival’s grand opening, graced by Magdalena Finke, State Secretary in the Ministry of the Interior, Municipal Affairs, Housing, and Sport of the State of Schleswig-Holstein, set the stage event. Against the backdrop of a clear blue sky, the inaugural ceremony symbolized a new chapter in Hamburg’s boating industry and maritime landscape. Heiko Zimmermann, founder and captain of Yachtfestival 365 GmbH, reflected on the success of the first edition, highlighting the palpable enthusiasm and camaraderie that permeated throughout the festival grounds. Zimmermann's innovative concept, blending exhibitions, in-water boat fairs, lectures, demonstrations, children's programs, hands-on activities and evening events, struck a chord with attendees and exhibitors alike. Local companies had the honor of being among the first ever exhibitors and their satisfaction has already stirred interest countrywide.
