It’s time for Hamburg’s yachting industry to make a splash in the German maritime market and it intends to do so by hosting the Hamburg Yacht Festival, a brand new in-water boat show that’s already creating waves within professional circles. With numerous parallel events and a diverse supporting program, this festival promises to be a new hub for the boating community on the Elbe and North Sea. Running until Sunday evening, the Hamburg Yacht Festival offers an enticing experience for both newcomers as well as industry veterans. Under the banner of ""Boating! Live!"", the inaugural Hamburg Yacht Festival fills a void in the water sports event landscape after the absence of hanseboot since 2017 and the brief tenure of the Hamburg Boat Show. More than just a floating boat exhibition, this festival serves as a rendezvous point for boaters from the Elbe, the North Sea, and beyond. It provides a platform for enthusiasts to engage in discussions, seek advice, gain inspiration, receive training or simply spend time in the ambiance of the Hamburg marina in Wedel. The Hamburg Yacht Festival offers a diverse program. Alongside the traditional Wedel Yacht Harbor Festival and its popular maritime flea market, visitors can partake in the informative Safety Days organized by the cruiser department club (CKA) and the Days of Sailing hosted by the German Sailing Association (DSV). Adding to the festivities are food stalls, games and a fun program for kids, as well as harbor parties in the evening. For those seeking entertainment, the festival delivers with the Bronx Pensioners Party on Friday night and live music featuring the JustForFun hit band and special guest Sailor Schönfeld and the life jackets on Saturday evening. The goal is to not just create business opportunities for local companies, but also inspire community building.
