Exhibitions in Stockholm, Sweden for Food & Drink

Stockholm has entered a productive, exploratory era in terms of innovation in the food and drinks sector, which consistently expands and adopts new technologies. Local producers arm themselves with the next generation of machinery and tech to pursue efficiency and sustainability. Foodtech is the biggest thing to happen in Stockholm’s food and drinks sector and AGFO sits at the forefront. Its founder, Lovisa Madås, emphasizes the silent revolution happening where much of Stockholm's food is produced locally. The buzz in Stockholm’s scene is the rise of locally grown, innovatively produced and climate-conscious foods. This paradigm shift isn't just a preference for foodies; it's a promise made to the planet. Stockholm finds itself in the position of a leader in the foodtech revolution by employing technical solutions that enhance the offerings at delis and restaurants citywide. Foodtech, a concept rooted in modernizing food production, distribution and consumption, aligns seamlessly with Stockholm's ethos of sustainability, health and innovation. Irena Lundberg, Business Development Manager in foodtech at Invest Stockholm, affirms, “In Stockholm, we live and breathe change. We love to try new things, and development is considered a key to living a fulfilling life.” The city showcases practical examples of foodtech in action from circular indoor farming and aquaponic fish tanks to small-scale kombucha producers working out of garages. Stockholm’s residents are increasingly inclined to know the origins of their food and how it's made. Notable food markets like Urban Deli, Paradiset, Happy Food Store and Stadshandel shop are central to this movement, offering a delightful array of homegrown, sustainable, and delectable products. The popularity of locally produced food and drinks was noticed by Henrik Sjöblom Adsten, sales manager at Urban Deli, who has made sure that Urban Deli’s offerings mostly include local production. Customers can find everything from beer from Pang Pang Brewery in Hökarängen to newcomers on the scene.
