Exhibitions in Berlin, Germany for Handicraft

Although Berlin is mostly associated with technology, raves and fashion, you might be surprised to learn that the city has one of the most diverse handicraft industries in Europe. Berlin’s handicraft industry comes truly alive at the numerous design markets that are staples. One of the big markets is the Schloßstraße market, which runs on an irregular schedule. It occupies the long strip on the other side of Charlottenburg Palace. Here, up to 150 professional ceramists, artists and designers from Germany and Europe showcase their newest pieces of work. Visitors are treated to a diverse array of paintings, graphics, sculptures, fashion, ceramics, and more, making it a delightful destination for art aficionados and leisurely weekend strollers alike. If you’re in the mood for a more curated experience, there’s the Bélaplume Market that celebrates French cultures and craft traditions. Organized by Bélaplume and held in changing locations, this art design market offers a charming blend of Berlin's local talent and French flair. Handmade originals, including silkscreen prints, postcards, fashion and felt animals beckon visitors. It's a cultural experience as it invites patrons to explore and indulge in the creative spirit of Berlin's artisans. Every Saturday, Neukölln's Maybachufer comes alive with the bustling Neuköllner Stoff market, a dynamic fusion of art, design, and fabric delights. While showcasing clothing, home accessories, and crafts from local creatives, the market also offers a unique selection of fabrics, catering to DIY enthusiasts and fashion aficionados alike. Delicatessen and street food stalls add to the vibrant atmosphere, ensuring a feast for both the eyes and the palate. The final section is the Karlshorst design market, which is based in the grandstand hall of the Karlshorst harness racing track. The design market gears towards classic and vintage furniture pieces. Here, fans of timeless design can peruse original one-off pieces made by hand.
