Exhibitions in Berlin, Germany for Electric & Electronics

The German capital region of Berlin-Brandenburg is working towards securing its top spot as an undisputed leader in the electronics industry. A unique blend of cutting-edge research, a highly skilled workforce, and a robust manufacturing base has led to the explosion in economic activity surrounding electronics manufacturing. It all begins with an unrivaled research infrastructure. With 52 universities and research institutions, the region forms one of Europe’s densest research networks. This concentration of expertise benefits companies across the electronics spectrum, from established aerospace giants to innovative startups. Leading universities like the Technical University of Berlin and Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences collaborate closely with companies, transforming groundbreaking research into real-world applications. Additionally, renowned research institutes like the Max Planck Institutes and Fraunhofer Institutes further bolster the region's reputation for innovation. The German government’s launch of the Research Fab Microelectronics (Forschungsfabrik Mikroelektronik) is just another step towards cementing Berlin-Brandenburg’s reputation for cutting-edge electronics research. This world-class initiative unites prominent research institutions like the IHP and the Ferdinand-Braun-Institut with eleven Fraunhofer Institutes. The research network focuses on four key areas. First, it’s pushing the boundaries of silicon-based technologies for sensors and information processing. Then developing next-generation compound semiconductors for energy efficiency and communication advancements. Third, pioneering the so-called heterointegration, a technique combining silicon with other semiconductors for applications like the Internet of Things. Finally, enhancing design, testing, and reliability methodologies to ensure high-quality and dependable electronics. Berlin is where ideas come to life. The region boasts a robust manufacturing sector, producing everything from intricate switches for large-scale electrical facilities to sensitive measuring equipment. Notably, Nauen, a city within Brandenburg, plays a crucial role by manufacturing component assembly equipment for industry leaders like Intel and Samsung.
